GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION
The diocese of Guajará-Mirim has an extension of 89 700 m2.  In order to better serve the communities, the diocese is divided in 3 pastoral regions.  Pastoral Region Sede: with 3 parishes: 16 urban communities and 58 rural communities.  Nova Mamoré - The origin of the city, previously called Vila Nova do Mamoré, was due to the deactivation of the Madeira-Mamoré Railroad and the creation of Br-425 in 1968, connecting the city of Guajará-Mirim to BR-364.

In 1988 the city of Vila Nova do Mamoré was created.  The population comes from various regions of the country.  Today it has approximately 23 thousand inhabitants.  Currently the parish has 18 communities: sixteen rural and two urban.  The São Francisco de Assis parish was created on November 26, 1982, in the city of Nova Mamoré, by Dom Geraldo Verdier - Diocesan Bishop.  The parish is about 50 km from the city of Guajará-Mirim, the Episcopal seat.

Over the years of its foundation many religious, lay people and also the project Church Sisters have collaborated with the evangelization of the parish.  In 2012, with the arrival of the new bishop Dom Benedito Araújo - there was a dismemberment, being erected the parish of Nossa Senhora de Fátima - District of Nova Dimensão, 100 km of Nova Mamoré.

FOUNDING
On the 14th day of December 2014, Dom Benenito Araujo, Bishop of Guajara-Mirim invited us to open a new mission front in his diocese.  We understood that it was a wonderful surprise from God, because it was the beginning of the Year of Consecrated Life.
