GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION
Ceará is one of Brazil's states. It is located in the north of the Nordeste region, and is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the northeast for 775 km. It covers an area of 146,348 km2 and had a population of 7,976,563 in July 2004 and 8,097,276 in July 2005 (IBGE). Its climate is tropical.
