Historical Moving From June 2nd to 6th, the 116 sisters nominated to the local community «Les Jardins d’Aurélie» crossed the entrance of the new residence, in groups of twenty per day, under the attentive care of the local team : Sr. Denise La Barre, Sr. Pauline Phaneuf, Sr Thérèse Chauvin and Sr. Madeleine L'Heureux.

Boxes filled with personal belongings were gathered in the common areas of the Mother House before being transported by truck. Several sisters lent a hand to ensure that everything arrived at its destination.

With all the necessary precautions, the statue of Mother Elizabeth also made its way to “Les Jardins d'Aurélie”, assuring that our foundress will continue to watch over her daughters.

On behalf of her team, Sister Denise La Barre, local superior, told the newcomers that they are reliving the foundation of a community as Mother Elizabeth experienced 136 years ago.

Obviously, the material resources were not the same in those days, but the current situation calls for as much surpassing of oneself and great adaptability.

Pentecost Sunday, June 8th was the chosen celebration to make the transition of the animation teams from the Mother house  to that of “Les Jardins d'Aurélie”, in the presence of sister Nicole Pellerin, delegate superior for Canada who had the following words :

“Sister Gisele Lapierre, you fulfilled the duties of the service of authority at the Mother house as regional superior and group facilitator. You have kept the service flame alive and well until the end. We ask you to give to Sister Denise La Barre, this symbol of fire and light so that she and her team, remain to the community of "Les Jardins d'Aurélie" community, a joyful and dynamic burning flame of the Spirit of Pentecost”.
