Brandon

1970-1972

GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION
The city of Brandon is situated on the south slope of the Assiniboine Valley. The school is on the north slope of the Valley, three miles north-east of the city, between the golf course and the government sponsored experimental farm.

FOUNDING
In 1970, the Oblate Fathers who administered the school asked for the collaboration of the Sisters of Saint Joseph. The latter accepted.

FOUNDERS
Sister Adrienne Poirier
Sister Rose Cournoyer

MISSION
The Sisters cared for approximately one hundred children living in residence. They were responsible for meals, supervision, and accompaniment. They worked endlessly and for free.

CLOSING OF THE HOUSE
On June 30, 1972, after two years of intense apostolate, the Sisters definitively left the school.
