1969-1973



GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION
The city of Oshawa is 5 kilometres from the shore of Lake Ontario, 560 kilometres from Montreal. The main industry is automobile manufacturing. The General Motors Company has two of its factories in Oshawa.

FOUNDING
In August 1969, Father Roland Sanschagrin, OMI, parish priest of Oshawa's French-Canadian parish, and brother of Bishop Albert Sanschagrin, OMI, of St. Hyacinthe, asked Mother Lucrèce Saint-Pierre, superior general, for some Sisters of Saint Joseph. She agreed to send sisters.

Sister Madeleine Bourdon

DEPARTURE
On January 5, 1973, the sisters left Oshawa for good.
