1947-1970



GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION
Notre Dame du Sacré Coeur Parish is in the Laprairie County, and is part of the St. Jean - Longueuil Diocese. It is on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River, not far from the Jacques Cartier Bridge.

FOUNDING
In 1947, Father Roméo Lauzon, the parish priest, with the consent of Bishop Anastase Forget, bishop of St. Jean - Longueuil, asked for four Sisters of Saint Joseph for the local school. The request was granted.

Sister St. Jean Damascène (Émilienne Millette)
Sister Imelda du Saint Sacrement (Imelda Hébert)
Sister St. Cécile d'Assise (Marie-Claire Éthier)
Sister Marie de Bethléem (Marie Trudeau)

DEPARTURE
On July 1, 1970, the sisters left the Notre Dame du Sacré Coeur Parish for good.
