GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION
The St. Alphonse territory was once part of the Laprairie municipality. On March 8, 1960, it became a separate municipality called Brossard.

FOUNDING
In June 1959, Father Michel Gauvreau, rector, and Mr. Alexis Surprenant, school board president, went to the mother house to meet Sister Sainte Madeleine de Pazzi (Sara Cordeau), superior general, to ask for sisters to manage their school. Their request was heard and granted. Two teaching sisters were charged with teaching grades 3, 7 and 8.

DEPARTURE
On June 20, 2000, the sisters left Brossard after 40 years of dedication in this parish.
