GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION

São Luis is an island situated in north eastern Brazil, on the Atlantic coast, in the state of Maranhão of which it is the capital. The island is sorrounded by extensive beaches.

FOUNDING
Four Brazilian Sisters who made their noviciate in Canada, return to their country of origin. They must prepare professionally to carry out their apostolate in their country by completing their studies at the Normal School of São Luis and, furthermore, they must continue their formation as scholastics. This, in the Regional House of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Saint Hyacinthe in Brazil.
